Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Did you know that it is estimated that 400'000 children will develop cancer each year worldwide?
Did you know that almost 90% of all new childhood cancer cases occur in low and middle-income countries, with a particularly high rate in the countries of western Africa?
Did you know that in high-income countries (UK, USA, and much of Europe) more than 80% of children with cancer are cured but in low-income countries, childhood cancer survival is as low as 15%?
Did you know that nearly half (43%) of all children with cancer go undiagnosed and untreated?
Did you know that less than 2% of funds dedicated to cancer research are allocated to pediatric cancers?
In collaboration with Simply Zoë I am donating a percentage of all sales from the FEARLESS. range during the month of September to The CANSEARCH Foundation, which finances research projects as part of the Child and Adolescent Onco-Hematology Unit of the Pediatric Department of the Geneva University Hospital.
Check out our FEARLESS. and butterfly t-shirts and hoodies for kids and adults. Let’s make sure child cancer research is supported and help close the care gap!
